To my readers and visitors you are such a blessing in my site too. So this is all for you. Friendship (with a capital F) is a rare and precious thing, some mystical combination of compatible senses of humor, kind listening ears, and feelings of closeness and trust even if you live far from each other. Who can you count on for support, advice, and fun? Happy weekend.

"To a friend’s house, the road is never long." Danish Proverb

"One who looks for a friend without faults will have none." Hasidic Saying

"Who finds a faithful friend finds a treasure." Apocrypha Ben Sira 6 14

"A friend is a person with whom I may be sincere. Before him, I may think aloud."
Ralph Waldo Emerson

"God send me a friend that will tell me of my faults." Thomas Fuller

"The most called-upon prerequisite of a friend is an accessible ear."
Maya Angelou

"If a friend is in trouble, don't annoy him by asking if there is anything you can do. Think up something appropriate and do it." Edgar Watson Howe

"I value the friend who for me finds time on his calendar, but I cherish the friend who for me does not consult his calendar." Robert Brault

"A real friend is one who walks in when the rest of the world walks out."
Walter Winchell

Do You Have Health Insurance?

I visited a site that talks about having insurance and i am really concern about it. In my family we do not have any health insurance. Since the rate is going up I know not everybody can afford to have it specially many of you in the family. Hubby have an insurance before but more than 30 years he did not used it until he drop it. Then we came to his life will as a family married couple with a son he decided to get a family insurance. Well it did not last long because of the high rate of it. He cannot afford to pay it anymore. Since then we do not have any health insurance. I know we are not alone millions of Americans do not have the insurance for sure. If emergencies occurred who can help us? I do not understand government helps because I am not a citizen yet and I am just almost four years in here. When I gave birth to my son without insurance that will pay for it was hard because the bill was huge so what we did the hospital allowed us to pay by month. Until now we are still paying for it that is why we do not want to have another baby yet since we want another one besides my son. How about you? Do you have the health insurance? Do you know what is Universal Health Insurance? I want to know and but hubby doesn't know what is it. I hope our economy is getting better and those do not have the insurance can survive without it. May God bless us always and take care of us all the time. Have a good day.

Carolina Outer Banks Rental

Hubby and I plan to have a camping this spring. But we did not decided yet what place we are going to. Last week we are talking about North Carolina mountains and beaches. Carolina beaches are pretty and affordable. I asked hubby about Outer Banks rentals and where is that located. Well, being a Carolinian he knows the place and wants to visit there, again since he already knows the place. If ever we decided to camp in that area then I am not worried about the place because they have their own Website at carolinadesigns.com. You can find more information just like the prices, vacancy, their rentals and more. If you have not come to this place better plan to visit here and enjoy your spring, summer or any day you want to come this place. Hope to see you there.

We Need To Change Our Bed Frames

Hubby and I swap places of our bed because his back is a little bit painful because of our bed frames that need replacement. Our economy is not good and we do not have the money to buy a new bed or just the frame in it. We plan to buy when we have a budget for that bed frame. My back hurts too every time I sleep with the side of the bed but I do not have the choice because we do not have the money to buy a new one. But last Valentines day he decided to use the little money he had to buy a foam that was cheap. Today when I open a Website I came across this thesleepshop.com they have a very affordable bed frames that I know soon we can afford to own one. Look at this beautiful lady sleeping in a very comfortable soft bed hope one day I can sleep like that with the new bed frames we own.

* All these blessings will come upon you and accompany you if you obey the LORD your God: You will be blessed in the city and blessed in the country. The fruit of your womb will be blessed, and the crops of your land and the young of your livestock—the calves of your herds and the lambs of your flocks. Your basket and your kneading trough will be blessed. You will be blessed when you come in and blessed when you go out. The LORD will grant that the enemies who rise up against you will be defeated before you. They will come at you from one direction but flee from you in seven. The LORD will send a blessing on your barns and on everything you put your hand to. The LORD your God will bless you in the land he is giving you. Deuteronomy 28:2-8

Steps To Conquer Perfectionism

Are you perfectionist? When I was in college I met many people who are perfectionist. I have a friend she was one administrator of the college and i asked her one time why she did not got married. She told me that being too perfectionist was badly and it will cause a problem. She does not like the guy that courted her when she was young because of the height. She was tall and the guy was not that tall but he was a very nice guy. They guy got married to other woman and she still single even in her age of 50+ now. I am perfectionist once in a while but not much. If hubby will doing something it should be perfect and there are no mistakes. But sometimes too perfectionist is not good it will create a problem. Anyway here are some steps to conquer perfectionism by Therese J. Borchard.

1. Remove yourself from the competition.
*Don't make life any more difficult than it already is. Most perfectionist's are extremely competitive ... because being perfect means being THE BEST at, well, EVERYTHING. So choose your friends and your groups wisely. For example, some professional organizations--writing clubs, publishing groups--can be extremely supportive. But some can be horribly competitive.

2. Make up some rules.

Of course you can't avoid all competitive situations. Which is why you need to make some rules. For example, I can now gauge when I'm going throw a period of insecurity ... when I feel like I need to be the best at something in order to feel okay about myself. During these periods, I don't check out Beliefnet's homepage where it lists "most popular blogs," "most e-mailed posts," "most popular features," because if I don't find my name somewhere in there, I mope around the house with that tight knot of disgust and angst in my stomach. Why torture myself? So here's my rule: I can only visit the homepage on the days when I don't feel like my popularity as a blogger is the definitive statement on who I am as a person. The result? I haven't been to the homepage in months!

3. Do a reality check.

Unrealistic expectations are perfectionism's trophy wife. Think about it. They always show up as a pair. So I try my best to distinguish realistic expectations from unrealistic ones. I list them all on a sheet of paper or (on a good day) in my head and then revise them about 2,035 times during the day. Under "unrealistic expectations" are cataloged things like this: "penning a New York Times bestseller in my half-hour of free time in the evening," "being homeroom mom to 31 kids and chaperoning every field trip," and "training for a triathlon with a busted hip." Under "realistic expectations," I index things like: "do 30 hours of good work in 30 hours of working time," "reading to David's class and having lunch with him once a month instead of being homeroom mom," and "skipping the triathlon, but continuing to work out four times a week to keep the brain and body happy." Recording the different possibilities of actions I can take to inch toward my broad goals (being a good mom, an adequate blogger, and a healthy person) can be extremely liberating.

4. Return to your exodus moment.

Awhile back, a Beliefnet editor asked some of the bloggers to describe our "exodus moments," when we were freed from fear and crossed the Red Sea of anxiety into a land of peace. I've had a few such moments. One was during my junior year in college, the one time I relapsed and got drunk after three years of sobriety. I stood quietly in the gazebo right outside Our Lady of Loretta Church, where Eric and I married four years later. I told God to take my addiction, to take it for good, because I could no longer carry it's weight. I remember lifting my hands to the sky as I looked down at the St. Joseph's river, and I felt totally at peace.

The truth learned in all exodus moments is this: None of that stuff responsible for spinning us in a tissy matters. None of it is important. Just as Henri Nouwen explains:

Somewhere deep in our hearts we already know that success, fame, influence, power, and money do not give us the inner joy and peace we crave. Somewhere we can even sense a certain envy of those who have shed all false ambitions and found a deeper fulfillment in their relationship with God. Yes, somewhere we can even get a taste of that mysterious joy in the smile of those who have nothing to lose.

5. Show your weakness.

This is counter-intuitive for most perfectionists. But I can guarantee that you'll get good results if you try it. Because every time I have, with great reservation, flashed my imperfections and become vulnerable before my Beyond Blue readers--crying, whining, screaming either in a post or on a video--the response is amazing. "Phew!" some say to me, "You are real. You feel that way too! So I guess I shouldn't beat myself up for similar emotions." Whenever I follow the advice of my wise editor, Holly--to write from where I am, not from where I want to be--my readers don't recoil in disgust. They come closer.

6. Celebrate your mistakes.

Alright, celebrate is an awfully strong word. Start, then, with accept your mistakes. But I do think each big blunder deserves a round of toasts. Because almost all of them teach us precious, rare lessons that can't be acquired by success. Nope, the embarrassment, humiliation, self-disgust ... all those are tools with which to unearth the gold. Just like Leonard Cohen writes in his song, "Anthem" that a friend of mine tapes to his computer as a reminder to ignore the perfectionist in him:

Ring the bells that still can ring,
Forget your perfect offering.
There is a crack in everything,
That's how the light gets in.

7. Add some color.

Perfectionists are color blind. They see the world in black and white. Example: either I am the best blogger in the entire blogosphere or I should throw my iMac into the Chesapeake Bay and become a water taxi driver (they do have a pretty cool job). Either I am the most involved mom in David's school or I am a slacker parent who should let a more capable mom adopt her son. Does this kind of thinking sound familiar? In order to get a pair of glasses on our inner perfectionist, then, we have to add a few hues to every relationship, event, and goal: we have to become a tad more tolerant of life's messiness, unresolved issues, and complicated situations that can't be neatly boxed up. Seeing in color is realizing that even though a certain solution to a problem worked well yesterday, it might not be right for today.

8. Break the job down.

Procrastination is a symptom of perfectionism. Because many of us are so petrified of bloopers that we can't begin the project. For a year or so I procrastinated writing my memoir. In fact, I procrastinated by reading Dr. David Burn's chapter on procrastination in his "Ten Days to Self Esteem," I couldn't write a bloody word until he set me straight. Burns explains: "One of the secrets of people who are highly productive is that they rarely try to tackle a difficult job all at once. Instead, they break the task down into its smallest component parts and do one small step a day."

As an exercise in that chapter, Dr. Burns suggests you list a few steps. For example, my first chore didn't involve sitting down at my computer. I first had to find and organize all the post-its regarding this project that I had stashed away in drawers and coat pockets. Then he advises you to commit to a specific time that you will get started on the job. Third, he prompts you to record the problems that you anticipate at that time. I wrote: "getting overwhelmed, hearing the negative voices in my head that say I can't do it, brain farts, and cognitive fatigue." Finally, Burns encourages you to arrive at some solutions to the potential distractions. I wrote: "do it despite what the voices say."

9. Be yourself.

In her book "Being Perfect," Anna Quindlen explains that being perfect is cheap and easy: "Because all it really requires of you, mainly, is to read the zeitgeist of wherever and whenever you happen to be and to assume the masks necessary to be the best at whatever the zeitgeist dictates or requires."

The much more challenging task, she asserts, is becoming yourself. Because "nothing important, or meaningful, or beautiful, or interesting, or great, ever came out of imitations." I concur. As a writer who used to shirk penning anything original, compiling book after book of other authors' works, I can attest to the exhilaration and satisfaction of writing my own words.

10. Believe in redemption.

Redemption is an odd thing. Because identifying the broken places in your heart and in your life can be one of the scariest exercises you ever do, and yet only then can you recognize the grace that comes buried with every hole. If the journey to the Black Hole of despair and back has taught me anything, it's this: everything is made whole in time ... if you can just hang on to the faith, hope, and love in the people and places around you long enough to see the sun rise yourself. Absolutely nothing is forsaken, not even those relationships and memories and persons that you think are lost forever. All things are made right in time. So you don't always have to get it right on the first try.

November 8th, 2006 in Lifehack, Lifestyle Ten Ways To Tell If Someone Is Lying To You

Can you detect if someone lied? I am writing this post because I am also a victim of a lie and I did not know that someone already lied. I research about this issue and I found different ways how to tell if a person is lying. According to Forbes there are ten ways.....

* Watch Body Language
* Seek Detail
* Beware Unpleasantness
* Observe Eye Contact
* Signs of Stress
* Listen for the Pause
* Ask Again
* Beware Those Who Protest Too Much
* Know Thyself
* Work on Your Intuition

I saw like this attitudes once in a while but I just ignore it. Another from topten.org here are what you can use:

1. Their eyes cast down when they lie.

2. They add too much.

3. Nervous laughter.

4. They feign ignorance about something you know they know.

5. They take charge of the conversation to distract/divert you.

6. They play on your friendship: asking you to just trust them,

7. You sense that something is off; any clue will do.

8. You find YOUR eyes squinting and your head angling several degrees.

9. When you ask for an explanation/clarification, there's a momentary gap while they conjure up something.

10. Explanations are given, that, while plausible, aren't good enough for YOU.

Job Search Again

Yesterday hubby was traveling going to his job in Mississippi and called many times to tell me how he was doing. I was lonely because this is the first time that I was not there with him. He called when he already in that place and stayed in a hotel for a night. It was a long way from home and he reach there at 12:30 a.m. He called me this morning and trying to find the place where he will be working but he cannot find it. So he called the one hired him and told him that job is on hold for some reasons. But he was told to go Louisiana because there is a job the same as the other one. We really do not know what the future holds and what God plan us to do. We will just go with the flow and everything are alright. He is now trying to find that place in Louisiana and I hope he has a job there. I hope God has plan for us to survive and pay our bills. wahhhhh this will makes me cry.

Encouraging Bible Verses

Today I feel sad hubby is going in other state to take an exam for his job I hope God help him to pass. For this reason I like to share some encouraging Bible verses that will help lift up our soul from weariness and sadness. The Bible offers comforting words that have sustained believers through centuries. In these verses you'll find words of hope and encouragement about God and his promises.

1. Renew Your Strength
* But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
-Isaiah 40:31

2. Be Not Dismayed
* So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
-Isaiah 41:10

3. He Will Sustain You

Jokes For Valentines Day

The saying, "She who laughs, lasts" might also go, "She who laughs, loves." Keeping a sense of humor in romantic relationships keeps us connected through the inevitable ups and downs of life. In celebration of Valentines day here are some jokes I found at beliefnet and hope you laugh....

1. Valentine’s Day Dream

After she woke up, a woman told her husband, "I just dreamed you gave me a diamond necklace for Valentine’s Day. What do you think it means?"

"You’ll know tonight," he said.

That evening the husband came home with a small package and gave it to his wife. Delighted, she opened it--to find a book entitled “The Meaning of Dreams.”

2. Black and White Wedding

Attending a wedding for the first time, a little girl whispered to her mother, "Why is the bride dressed in white?"

"Because white is the color of happiness, and today is the happiest day of her life."

The child thought about this for a moment, then said, "So why is the groom wearing black?"

3. Hymns for Her

One Sunday a pastor told the congregation that the church needed some extra money and asked the people to prayerfully consider giving a little extra in the offering plate. He said that whoever gave the most would be able to pick out three hymns.

After the offering plates were passed, the pastor glanced down and noticed that someone had placed a $1,000 bill in offering. He was so excited that he immediately shared his joy with his congregation and said he'd like to personally thank the person who placed the money in the plate. A very quiet, elderly and saintly lady all the way in the back shyly raised her hand. The pastor asked her to come to the front. Slowly she made her way to the pastor. He told her how wonderful it was that she gave so much and in thanksgiving asked her to pick out three hymns.

Her eyes brightened as she looked over the congregation, pointed to the three handsomest men in the building and said, "I'll take him and him and him."

4. A Darkened Theater

A strained voice called out through the darkened theater, "Please, is there a doctor in the house?!"

Several men stood up as the lights came on.

An older lady pulled her daughter to stand next to her, "Good, are any of you doctors single and interested in a date with a nice, Jewish girl?"

5. How Many Women?

A little boy was attending his first wedding. After the service, his cousin asked him, "How many women can a man marry?"

"Sixteen," the boy responded.

His cousin was amazed that he knew the answer so quickly. "How do you know that?"

"Easy," the little boy said.

"All you have to do is add it up, like the Preacher said: 4 better, 4 worse, 4 richer, 4 poorer."

Happy Valentines Day To All!

Happy Valentines Day Everybody. To my beloved visitors, readers and newly viewers of my blog it is my pleasure to say thank you you bring so much love to me. You are helping to gain traffics that is why I am thankful. Today we celebrate the love that we shared to each one of us. I want to share the whole chapter of 1 Corinthians 13 that says about "Love".

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. 12Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

Advice Worth Reading

A friend of mine sent this advice and hope you like it.

"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."

Dr. Adrian Rogers (1931 to 2005)

Win Myself Belts Giveaway at Mama's Money Savers

Mama's Money Savers is hosting a giveaway that will end this coming February 16. Win this nice Myself Belts that is useful for your kids.

How does the Myself Belt work?

* First snap the belt onto the first loop
* Next slide the belt through all the belt loops as you would a regular belt
* Finally Secure the belt with VELCRO

Why do you need this for your child?

* Potty Training - Make it easy to get pants on and off quickly
* Newly Potty Trained - Without a diaper the pants that once fit your child may now be too big and loose in the waist since underwear is much thinner.
* Fast Growing Toddler - This is where I had the problem of my son being tall but thin. Sometimes a pair of pants may fit in length but still be roomy at the waist

* Fashion Accessory - These belts come in such cute designs (and can be personalized!) that they will match or accentuate any outfit! Yes you can get your child's name personalized on some of the belt styles. I know some mothers who coordinate their child's outfits from their socks up to their pacifier so why not have a matching belt!

How to enter:

Go to Myself Belts and tell her which style you like and who you want this for!

Please do check out this company as it does deserve a look as they are being so generous as allowing me to do this Giveaway. Also, if you just put a generic comment like "I want to Win" then I will have to disqualify you. Sorry! Also, this contest is only open to US residents.

Saving Data While Editing

Last night I slept late because of making a blog layout for a friend. I tried to copy the links in her sidebar so that if I change her layout it is easy for me to put it back. I able to copy all the links quicker in the view source. At that time my son woke up from sleep and I tried to let him put back to bed because its just 12:30AM. I forgot to save what I am doing and let the computer run. I plan to come back after my son back sleep but oh my gosh I fall asleep also. When I wake up this morning and try to finish what I am doing last night I almost cry because all the data are gone. I ask my hubby if he off the computer last night but he said it is already open when he saw the computer. So meaning the computer itself did something and this is a mess. All my effort last night is just a waste wahhhhhh. That is why my advice to you is whatever you do in your blog just save it so that you will not do it over and over again.
