This is a good travel tips specially this holidays. Everything should be planned and be aware of what is coming. I heard many people saying that they have the worst trip ever. So in this travel tips that was written by Rosemary McClure at lifescript.com.

1. Organize.
*Plan ahead instead: Label a manila envelope and fill it with your notes, important phone numbers and your travel contacts (reservation desk clerks, car rental agents, etc). Before you leave home, be sure to add hotel confirmations, itineraries and printouts of electronic tickets.

2. Map it.
*If you’re spending the holiday somewhere new (or have a tendency to get lost driving around the block), buy a high-quality map (online versions aren’t detailed enough) and add it to your file. It’ll help you plan your journey and double as a souvenir when you return home.

3. Back up important info.
*Scan your passport, ID, credit cards and send the info to your email account before you leave home. Also include the names and numbers of friends, neighbors, doctors, prescription drug types and any other important information you may need while away. If you won’t have email access, type up the information, print it out and include it in your travel file.

4. Pack smart.
*Separate your clothing into types: underwear, pants, shirts or blouses and shoes. Slip each group into its own large bag and pack the bags in your suitcase. Clothing is much easier to find, wrinkles less and can be packed and repacked quickly if you need to open the bag in a security line.

5. Make your own seat luck.
*As for the safest seat on the plane, opinion is divided. But recent studies say your best bet is the back of the plane or an aisle seat up front within five rows of an emergency exit.

6. Breeze through security.
*Master the metal detector with a strategic travel outfit and an organized carry-on bag. Slip-on shoes will get you through screening faster than lace-up sneakers. And once again, a Ziploc bag is a travel essential: Place your cell phone, wallet, belt and other metal items into the bag before you get in line. It’s easy to drop the bag into the bin and retrieve it on the other side. Plus, you’re less likely to leave behind an item.

7. Avoid the bump.
*check in online − you can do this up to 24 hours before your flight – and get to the gate at least 30 to 45 minutes before takeoff.

8. Kill time creatively.
*You know the drill of holiday travel: Hurry up. Wait. Hurry up. Wait. So take a book to occupy yourself between connecting flights and delayed departures, but also look out for more interesting ways to kill time.

9. Exercise in midair.
*Wiggle circles with your ankles, stretch your calves, roll your shoulders, turn your head from side to side, alternatively hunch and straighten your back, and flex your arms and fingers.

10. Stay healthy.
*So how can you keep the germs at bay? Sip water frequently during the flight, and wipe down your tray table and armrests with disposable sanitizing wipes. Wash your hands before meals, or use a hand-sanitizing product. Products we like: Mr. Bump Antiseptic Wipes ($6), Purell (prices vary) and Mistify Hand Sanitizer ($6)

11. Avoiding the unavoidable.
*Some problems are beyond your control. But you can decrease your odds of facing them. For example, travel early in the day if possible. Should problems arise with the flight, you’ll have more time to sort things out and get onto another plane. Also, take non-stop flights; your luggage is less likely to go astray.

12. Stick to your exercise program.
*Don’t even think of leaving your workout routine at home. It’s a fail-safe antidote to holiday stress and splurges.
